The jayvee Lady Broncs softball squad broke open a close game and rode that to the win over the Cal City Lady Ravens.

Kern Valley had a one run lead over the Lady Ravens at 7-6. They pushed 10 runs home and took a huge lead. Despite a late rally by the Lady Ravens, it was not enough to overcome the big lead that Kern Valley built. The Lady Broncs won the game 18-11.

They pounded out five hits received 11 walks, and used the shoddy defense of the Lady Ravens against their opponent to secure the league victory.

In the 10-run second, the first seven batters reached base and would eventually come around to score. Kern Valley had 15 batters come to the plate in the inning.

Kern Valley hitting: Aryan Meyers 2 (2B), Hannah Ocampo 1, Krista Witten 1, Destiny Chaparro 1.

Prior to the Cal City contest, the Lady Broncs made the trip to Rosamond to play the Lady Roadrunners. They stayed close, but in the end, the lady Roadrunners would prevail 13-9.

The first at bats for Rosamond proved to be the downfall for the Lady Broncs. They allowed their opponents six runs in the first. It was a big enough lead that, despite the effort, it was too steep to overcome.

With the score 10-1 after three innings of action, the Lady Broncs inched close as they scored five runs in the fourth.

Nine batters came to face the Rosamond pitcher. The big hit of the inning came off the bat of Amberlee Ross. She delivered a two-run triple.
