We are happy to announce the new start of school and the new school day calendars that have been adopted by the Kern High School District.
The school will start on Monday, August 24th at 8 AM, via On-line Instruction. Each period will be 90 minutes.
We will host three classes each day, with Period 1, 2, and 3 on Monday, Periods 4, 5, and 6 on Tuesday. The schedule will rotate, with each Fridays alternating.
It will be as follows:
Period 1 or 4 will be from 8:00 a.m.. to 9:30 a.m.
Period 2 or 5 will be from 9:40 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. (An extra 10 minutes has been added for school business, announcements, etc.)
Period 3 or 6 will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Lunch will be from 1:00 p.m.. to 1:30 p.m.
From 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. all staff will be on duty for:
-Collaborating with colleagues
-Monitoring student progress and providing academic support
-Gathering Formative and Summative Assessments
-Participating in Professional Development and Staff Meetings
-Participating in IEP and 504 Meetings
We will provide curb-side lunch pick-up for students. The calendar and details will be available soon.
More details and formal schedules will be on the way soon. Please make sure your students have checked out their books, had their ID photos taken, and received a Chromebook if they need one.
