The Lady Broncs had three track athletes compete at the Bob Pryor Memorial Invite.
The Bob Pryor Memorial was held in Merced at Veteran’s Stadium. On March 29, there were 14 teams on hand to compete in the events. Kern Valley competed in eight events. They would win three of those events. They also collected three second place finishes, while one athlete took home a third.
The Lady Broncs, Aspen Hacker, Jayda Bushling, and Kyla Hacker were invited to compete with the other varsity athletes at the invite. A. Hacker would win the 800m, the 1600m, and the 3200m races. Her times were 2:26.24 in the 800m, 5:19.26 in the 1600m, and 12:28.34 in the 3200m. She also ran to a second-place finish in the 400m.
Bushling competed in the 100m, the 200m, the long jump, and triple jump. Her top finish came in the 200m where she timed a 27.50 to take second. Bushling leaped 32’ 1” to grab a third-place finish in the triple jump. In two other events she placed fourth. In the 100m her time was 13.09, and in the long jump her best leap was 14’ 5”.
K. Hacker was second in the 1600m in a time of 5:48.76. She followed that with a 13th place finish in the 400m in a time of 1:12.64, while a time of 2:57.20 in the 800m was good for 15th place.
The success of these three athletes continues to grow each time they run or jump in events.
