The junior varsity Lady Broncs volleyball team opened league and put other teams on notice.
Kern Valley began the High Desert League action by taking their first two matches. They swept Desert and two days prior grabbed the 2-1 victory over newcomer Boron.
Making the trip to Boron to square off with the Lady Bobcats, Kern Valley was able to earn the first set win as they dominated 25-9.
In game two, both teams battled hard for the set win, but it was the Lady Bobcats producing the win taking it 25-23 to even the match at 1-1 and send it to a deciding third set.
The Lady Broncs were not to be denied as they won the third set 15-10 and make their HDL mark 1-0 on the year.
Two days later, the Lady Broncs were back on the road as they traveled to Edwards Air Force base to take on the Lady Scorpions of Desert. Kern Valley took control early and never looked back as they swept the match with identical scores of 25-13.
With the victory in hand, the Lady Broncs sit at 2-0 in the HDL.
Kern Valley hosted Frazier Mountain in a key league contest on Tuesday. They will take on Rosamond at home on Thursday.
