The Kern River Chorus performed at two events last weekend, the Kernville Chamber of Commerce Candlelight Stroll Friday, December 6 at Circle Park in Kernville and A Christmas Spectacular “Sing We Noel” Saturday, December 7, at First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella.

Both events were especially to get the community into the holiday spirit.

The Candlelight Stroll included a live Nativity, which members of Knuckle Up Ministries participated in, this time around. According to Cheryl Borthick various churches have participated in the live nativity over the years.

Back in the 1990s Lanny Borthick founded the event, when he was president of the Kernville chamber.

The day after the stroll the Kern River Chorus and the Community Orchestra participated in Christmas Spectacular, Sing We Noel, which was a fundraiser for the chorus.
