Kenneth Joseph Campbell passed away at his home in Mountain Mesa, Calif. on December 18 at the age of 68.
Kenny will be joining his father, William; his mother, Geraldine; his brothers, Bill and George; and his cat, Kitty Babe in heaven.
Kenny is survived by his sister, Colleen Harrison; his ex-wife, Kim Cooper; his niece, Sarah Tolley; and his son, Kevin Campbell.
Kenny was born in Burbank, Calif. on February 9, 1951. He graduated from St. Genevieve Junior High School and went on to become a soldier, gardener, asphalt paver, construction worker, hobo, and an amateur theologian / political scientist / philosopher. He served his country honorably as an artilleryman in Vietnam and retired in 2001 from service related disabilities.
He enjoyed praying the rosary and watching movies, sports, and Fox News on television. When he was in better health he liked fishing, going to the gym, and caring for his cat.
He was a supporter of many causes and organizations, such as the Maryknoll Brothers and Sisters, Wounded Warrior, the Christian Children’s Fund, the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association, the NAACP, the Republican Party, the NRA, Priests for Life, the Eternal Word Truth Network, as well as sponsored several children in Africa and Latin America.
His memorial mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Wofford Heights, Calif. on January 7, 2020. Refreshments will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a veteran’s memorial at 9:00 a.m., rosary at 9:30 a.m. and mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Bakersfield National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.
