On 6/14/2024, Deputies from the East Area Substations Section began working on a Community Oriented Policing project (COPs) in the Tehachapi area. Deputies learned about numerous Vagos motorcycle gang members in the area that were harassing customers at a local business.
On 07/03/2024, deputies conducted follow-up on this COPs project and executed a search warrant in the 3,100 block of Melvin Street, Rosamond, California. While at the residence, deputies arrested 46 year old John Anderson of Rosamond. Anderson was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and a gang enhancement.
As a result of this ongoing COPs project, deputies have arrested the Sergeant at Arms of the Antelope Valley Chapter of Vagos, Ulisses Navarette (2024-00072000). Deputies have also arrested the President of the Antelope Valley Chapter of Vagos, John Anderson (2024-00078977).
