KCSO arrests two for drugs, firearms

On April 11, 2019, a Kern Valley Substation deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Lake Isabella Boulevard and Webb Avenue. The driver, Michael Brown (34), was on active Kern County Probation. Kern Valley Substation deputies detained Brown and conducted a probation search at his nearby residence, located in the 2400 block of Cherry Street in Lake Isabella.

This residence has also been deemed uninhabitable, or “red tagged,” by Kern County Code Compliance. Upon arriving, deputies found a stolen Hyundai sedan parked in front of the residence.

Deputies found Enrique Griffin (26), resident of Bakersfield, and an adult female with her child inside the residence. Griffin had an active felony warrant for his arrest. Griffin was found in possession of the key to the stolen vehicle, a large quantity of prescription narcotics, methamphetamine, a large sum of money, and was under the influence of a controlled substance. Inside of the stolen vehicle, deputies located a loaded .45 semi-auto handgun and ammunition. During a search of Brown’s room, deputies located and seized a .22 caliber handgun, ammunition, and methamphetamine.

Brown was subsequently arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield for: H&S 11366 – Maintaining a drug house

PC 30305 – Convicted felon in possession of ammunition
