On Thursday, June 28, the Kern Valley Aquatics Program (KVAP) held their graduation ceremony. Ice cream and root beer were served, and the children performed a presentation for their parents, showcasing what they’ve learned – in terms of both safety and swimming. KVAP is a non-profit organization, offering swim lessons to residents of all ages. The three week session included swimming, running, team building, lifeguard skills, calisthentics, special guests, and activity days. The junior lifeguards were introduced to Emergency Response careers such as life guarding or being an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and organized a junior lifeguard competition.
