Jerry H. Williams

1939-2018

Jerry H. Willaims, age 79, passed away May 23, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his wife and daughters, in Wofford Heights, Calif., after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Jerry was born in Phillips, TX, and grew up in Lomita, Calif., and graduated from Banning High School. He worked for Texaco Refinery in the Power Dept. Engineering for 33 years and retired in 1994. He was a member of the Lomita Jaycees, a member of the Lomita Parks & Recreation Committee, the Community Development & Resources Committee and was a member of the City of Lomita Planning Commission, where he served as chariman. After retiring, he and his wife, Norma, moved to the Kern River Valley. He loved his family, camping, traveling, fishing, golf, yard sales, and his church, First Baptist Church Kernville, where he was a deacon. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Williams; daughters Donna Dean of Lomita/Wofford Heights, Calif., and Carol Williams of Kernville, Calif.; son-in-law John Dean of Lomita, Calif.; grandchildren Christopher Dean of Torrance, Calif., Brian Dean (Maria) of Lomita, Calif., and Johnny Dean (Dorothy) of Wofford Heights, Calif.; and sister-in-law Margaret and husband Charlie Hemstreet of Nipomo, Calif. Memorial services will be held on June 23, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church Kernville, Calif.
