Not only did they match in skill, but in scoring as well, with a final score of 14-14. By Ray Conner Sports Editor Kern Valley’s jayvee football squad saw their first action of the year and were fit to be tied. When the Eagles of Templeton came to town Friday night, the two teams seemed evenly matched. Not only did they match their scoring, but they also did it in the same quarters. The Eagles scored a touchdown and kicked the PAT in the first quarter and so did the Broncs. The second quarter stayed empty as the two teams left the field with the scoreboard reading 7-7. Coming out of the break they duplicated the scoring of the first quarter and the score went to 14-14. Neither team managed to find the end zone the rest of the way and Kern Valley began their season with a tie. Zach Rock and Spenser Hensen found the end zone for Kern Valley with rushing touchdowns. The PAT’s were divided between Damon Sage and Hensen for all the Broncs scoring.
