Kern Valley’s jayvee football team will get their season started in Taft on Friday.

They will look to continue their winning ways. The Broncs junior varsity squad currently holds an 18-game unbeaten streak. They are 17-0-1 over the past two years. The last time the Broncs walked off the field in defeat was at the hands of Bishop. They suffered the loss in the final game of the 2015 season and have not lost since that time.

Scott Tedrow is the head coach this season. He will be assisted by Aaron LaFarga, Robert Hanger, and Ed Overholt.

The Broncs will have a tough non-league schedule to kick off the year. They will play Taft on the road to begin the year, then home for four straight games. They will play Silver Valley, then Mission Prep comes to town. This is a Thursday night game.

Then it’s McFarland and Mira Monte. They will be on the road at Strathmore to conclude their non-league portion of the schedule.

When they return home the following week it will be the start of the High Desert League. They will take on Cal City then be back at home for Bishop. The final two games will be on the road at Boron and finish off with a trip to Rosamond.
