Jayvee Broncs cut down by Bishop

On Friday, May 5, the Kern Valley Broncs Jayvee baseball team played against Bishop Union High School at Bishop.

The team came out against the Bishop Broncos, but they were cut down by the opposing team. The jayvee team only made one play in the first inning. The total score of the game was 18 to 1 with the Bishop Broncos coming out ahead.

The Broncs only had five base runners reach their base. They were limited to one hit in the contest. Trever Hurley belted a double for the lone hit for the Broncs. Besides Hurley’s double, the Broncs received four free passes for the other base runners in the games. J.J. Forbes was the only player from Kern Valley to make it home and score for the Broncs.

The jayvee team played against Rosamond on Tuesday, May 9, as of press time, no information is available on the game. The next regularly scheduled game will take place on Thursday, May 11 against Shafter, at Shafter High School.

This year, the jayvee baseball team has had a good season with eight wins and only four losses. In league, the team has won two games and lost only one.
