Water in the West – KRV Historical Society

May 2 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

A summary of a week-long seminar, “Water in the West” held at Lochsa Lodge in Idaho, will be presented by Gene Verbeet and Larry Holochwost on May 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the Historical Society’s Research Annex. Historical federal land and water policies west of the line of semiaridity will provide the subject matter for this presentation, as well as the Herculean private and public efforts that shaped the states and great modern cities of the American West.
Gene and Larry are the co-authors of The Golden Trout Wilderness: The Forty Year Struggle to Preserve the Ancient Territory of the California Golden Trout, published by the Kern River Valley Historical Society. The long-time Kern Valley residents, with life-long backgrounds in studying and teaching American History, are both retired from professional careers in public education. Both remain active in historical research projects at the Annex.
