Turn Up the Radio!

The Kern Valley Historical Society general meeting program on January 28 will be hosted by Charlie Busch, the voice of radio here in the Kern River Valley. Charlie will cover a host of topics about radio broadcasting such as a brief history of how and when radio began and where he came into it, the remarkable changes in technology for broadcasters, the role of radio stations serving their community, a look back on previous owners of the current Kern Valley stations, how radio gets from the studio to you, the outlook regarding the future of local radio. (Local radio is free of charge), and cost of operations and how broadcasters meet those costs. Charlie will give us time to ask questions. Don’t miss it on January 28 at the Senior Center in Lake Isabella at 7 p.m. And refreshments will be served.
