The Great Kern River Cleanup

September 5 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Hosted by Kern River Conservancy

Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 9:30 a.m- 1:30 p.m held in the Upper Richbar Picnic Area located at Rt 178, Wofford Heights.

It’s that time again for all of us to unite for Kern County’s largest river cleanup. This year we’ve invited our friends from Berry Petroleum who will be sponsoring our new volunteer t-shirts. Ford’s fleet management is donating several utility trucks to help us transport all that yucky trash. BJ’s Brewhouse will once again cater their famous pizzas and pastas to all our volunteers. Our local whitewater rafting companies are also joining the party with their donation of passenger vans to transport all of you amazing people up and down the river to reduce vehicle traffic in the canyon.

Come Prepared!!

Dress according to weather and wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots, bring a hat and sunscreen and don’t forget to bring water bottles. We will have a refill station set up. The Sierra Nevada Conservancy is supplying us with all the trash bags, and thanks to a grant we recently received from the US Forest Service and River Network, we have tons of new trash pickers for everyone. This event is family friendly, so bring the kids!

Registration is at 9:30 a.m and we will have a quick safety meeting and be on the road by 10 a.m. Volunteers will return by 1 p.m for lunch. Any questions, feel free to call us at (760) 549-9470.
