March 5 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
KRV Museum’s History Talk • March 5
Thursday, March 5 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., the KRV Museum is hosting their second History Talk of 2020. It will be by Roberta Piazza Gordon on at the Museum Annex, 60 Big Blue Road, Kernville. Roberta will be telling us about the adventures of “Growing Up in New Kernville”. In the early 1950’s Roberta’s parents, Al and Aileen Piazza built the Pine Cone Inn and Restaurant, across from where Kernville School would be on Sierra Way. Kernville was a brand new town, growing up around Circle Park and Riverside Park. The Methodist Church, the Odd Fellows community hall, and 20 or 30 houses were being moved up-River from Old Kernville, which was being flooded by the rising waters of Lake Isabella. Roberta got to grow up with New Kernville — a feisty little, mountain town, on the Kern River.
