Job Developer, Gloria Zacarias from Employers’ Training Resource (ETR) was speaker at a luncheon for the Kern Valley Exchange Club, which Paradise Cove Lodge hosted, Thursday September 19.

Kern County Employers Training Resource partners with America’s Job Center, where local Kat Barnum works, which was one reason why Barnum accompanied Zacarias to the luncheon. Zacarias and Barnum wanted the public to know that ETR assists people seeking jobs and employers seeking an employee to fill a particular position.

The center assists job seekers with information on how to create a proper resume and prepare for a job interview.

Zacarias assists with the development of employment opportunities by promoting programs and services to prospective employers and community organizations. She acts as a liaison with the business community. She also conducts research to identify labor trends, training and program service needs.

ETR’s specialty is job development recruitment and placement through partnerships with employers.

ETR offers no-cost employment and training services to the employers and job seekers in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. To speak with someone at ETR please call (661) 325-HIRE for assistance with workforce needs.

ETR is a department of the County of Kern, providing staff services to the Kern, Inyo, and Mono Counties. The Kern County Board of Supervisors serves as the Chief Local Elected Official for the three county consortium and provides the administrative structure and oversight of this system.
