Edward Leon Wilson was born January 18, 1948 in San Bernardino, Ca to William Wilson and Lenora Watson of Victorville, CA. He transitioned from earth to heaven in his son Dennis Wilson’s arms next to daughter-in-law Christine, August 6, 2020.
Ed grew up in Victorville, went to Victor Valley High School, and joined the United States Army in 1966 serving in both Korea and Germany through 1973. He loved this country and got to see many miles of it as an owner operator cross country truck driver, racking more than a million miles over 17 years. In 1989, Ed moved to Lake Isabella, California to be closer to his sister Murielene Tilley. Soon after, he began working for FedEx in Kern River Valley for over a decade.
Ed was well known and loved in his co-owned business: Kern Valley Auto Body & Towing in Wofford Heights, CA. His dear friend and life-long brother-in-law Pete Tilley worked alongside. Ed’s years of long haul driving and his love of NASCAR, helped him excel in the industry. Sundays were dedicated NASCAR, as he loved all things NASCAR and need for speed.
In March 2020, Ed moved in with his son Dennis and daughter-in-law Christine. Together they had made plans for the future and looked forward to spending time together, however Ed suffered a battle with cancer.
Ed is survived by his sister in Wofford Heights Murielene Tilley, his 7 children, Larry Wilson of Connecticut, Tammy Wilson of Victorville, Dennis Wilson of Cottonwood, Steven Wilson of Redding, Jordan Wilson of Phelan,
Katelyn Wilson of Phelan, Alex Wilson of Redding and his 10 grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery located at 11800 Gas Point Rd. Igo, CA 96047, October 9, 2020 at 2:00pm.
