On Saturday, July 11 around 2 p.m., a dead tree fell over blocking Mountain Hwy 99 about a mile before McNally’s Burgers. Cars lined the HWY on both sides with no way of getting through. U.S Forest Service showed up to save the day by cutting the tree into pieces.
Volunteers parked along the HWY showed up to help the Forest Service. One volunteer in a truck had a chain that they used to help pull the tree from off of the roadway. These efforts took about an hour before traffic was able to start moving again.
