Rumors had been circulating for months about when the original Dam Korner would open its doors once again. At first some thought it would be in time for Thanksgiving or perhaps Christmas. Then on Friday, Dec. 29, after nearly two years and just in time to ring in the new year, the original Dam Korner cafe turned on the “Open” sign and fired up the grill to serve breakfast and lunch to crowds of enthusiastic patrons.
“We had some hiccups, which were to be expected, but overall, it was a good day,” said Shawna Spradlin when asked how the first day went.
The cafe menu still has all the Dam Korner signature dishes, with a few more favorites added in. Spradlin also stated that they will have all the decor finished in the next couple of weeks and hope to have a grand opening of the cafe portion next month. The much anticipated bar and grill portion of the restaurant still has work to be done and will not be open for a few more months. We can hardly wait!
