On Thursday, June 8, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office conducted a presentation on Crime Prevention during a “town hall” style event at the Senior Center in Lake Isabella. During the presentation, Crime Prevention Specialist Elvie Martinez discussed the different ways local youth may be exposed to drug culture and the innovative ways intoxicating substances can be disguised in everyday objects. There were also many local resources represented at the event; Kern Stop Meth Now, The Family Resource Center, Joe’s House, Women’s Center – High Desert, Owen’s Valley Career Development Center, College Community Services, and Kern Valley Healthcare District, just to name a few.
