On Thursday, August 8, Karen Hartfield of the Friends of Kern River Radio presented Charlie Busch with a check from proceeds of its May fundraiser which is being used to help pay for relocating the Alta Sierra Broadcasting equipment back to Cook Peak. Radio reception will be back to the strong service it had before the tower equipment was destroyed three years ago in the Erskine Fire. Busch used local supplies and labor for the relocation work which took place the first week in August. Bush appreciates the patience of the community during these transition periods, and is grateful for its funding assistance, saying, “This check has made it possible to relocate the stations back to their original site on Cook Peak. We couldn’t have done it without the generous support of the community.”
