Carol L. Ostroski

Oct. 9, 1941 – Feb. 6, 2019

Carol was born in the village of Ilion in upstate New York to Isabelle and Carl Scouten. When Carol was a year and 2 weeks old, Isabelle passed away. Carl came home from West Point, where he was a drill instructor, to be at her bedside. Isabelle told Carl she wanted her parents to raise Carol.

After Isabelle’s passing, Carl went overseas to fight in WWII. When Carol was 2 years old, her maternal grandparents, Clover and Harold Peak, legally adopted her, changing her last name to Peak.
Carol met John Ostroski on a blind date arranged by friends. They were married on June 30, 1962, in the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion, New York. They had two sons, Stephen M. and Daniel P.; six grandchildren: Stephen D., Joshua, who passed away at age 23, Stephanie, Michael, Justin and John H.; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Rosary will be at St. Jude Catholic Church in Wofford Heights on Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m., with a funeral mass to follow. Reception to follow funeral mass in the church hall.
