Carl Eugene Gorham Oct. 10, 1937 — Aug. 24, 2020

Carl was born to Glen and Ada Gorham in Battle Creek, Michigan, on October 10, 1937.

He passed away suddenly on August 24, 2020 at his home in Wofford Heights.

Carl married the love of his life Mary Braffet on May 7, 1960. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Leaving behind his two sons, Michael (Kelly) and Patrick (Sherry), two grandsons Zachary and Connor, step-granddaughter Brianna, and brother Gerald.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother William, and sister Glenda.

Carl served in the United States Navy for four years, followed by a career as a plumber belonging to the local #761 for 60 years.

Carl and Mary moved here to the Kern River Valley in 2003 and became very active in community events, especially the fishing Derby. He was a fish feeder for many years and loved to fish. He also loved watch his beloved Angels win or lose.

Carl was an officer in the Kern River Valley Masonic Lodge and had been a member for 43 years.

He belonged to all of the Masonic bodies, Shrine, York Rite, Eastern Star, and was presiding officer of the Scottish Rite Masons in Bakersfield. He served in officer positions in many of the groups.

He was especially proud of the work for the Shrine Hospital for Children and help to support the transportation fund of young people for medical treatments and needs.
