Caleb Wayne McAnally was born on December 2, 1984. He spent most of his childhood here in the Kern River Valley and met his wife, Saceila, in the 8th grade. It was then that he assured her they would be married one day, and the couple fulfilled that promise 7 years later. Caleb and Saceila have two beautiful girls together, and Caleb was a tender and loving father and husband.
Caleb was both a dreamer and a doer, and an entrepreneur to his core. He owned his own construction business for over a decade and was never without a side hustle or two to keep things interesting. He had a special knack for building things and worked incredibly hard to provide for not only his own young family, but also extended family members and friends in times of need.
Caleb loved to be outdoors. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and loved to take his family camping. He loved animals, and his mother, and later his wife, both rolled their eyes at the newly “adopted pets” he brought with him every time he came through the door.
He was a fiercely loyal friend and brother, a devoted father, an adoring husband, and a son to be proud of. He was also a colorful storyteller, a tattoo collector, a mischief maker, and a partaker of Jack-and-Coke. In short, he was a good man. A sinner saved by grace, and we know we’ll see him again someday.
Caleb was unexpectedly called home March 28, 2018. We take comfort in the fact that his last memories are of camping with his wife and girls, and that his last moments here on earth found him surrounded by people who loved him. Caleb is survived by his wife of 14 years, Saceila McAnally; his daughters Riley and Mandolin McAnally; parents Mike and Nancy Bull; father Gary McAnally; siblings Shelby, Stephanie, Joshua, Aubrey, and Daniel; grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends he considered family.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 3701 Suhre Street, Lake Isabella, California 93240.
