Cal Club to host U.S. Majors Tour road race

California Sports Car Club

The California Sports Car Club will host the first SCCA U.S. Majors Tour road race on the West Coast on Jan. 12-14 at the Auto Club Speedway. The U.S. Majors Tour is the pinnacle of championship amateur road racing in North America and is where America’s best drivers come to race. The U.S. Majors Tour races are a direct path to the SCCA National Championship Runoffs, which will be held for the first time at Sonoma Raceway in the beautiful wind country of Sonoma, Calif., in October 2018. Large racing fields are expected for all seven West Coast Championship events starting with this Cal Club-hosted race in Fontana, Calif.

Cal Club is the builder of Buttonwillow Raceway Park, which is celebrating its 24th anniversary, located in Buttonwillow, Calif., and is a region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Cal Club is entering its 68th year, has nearly 2,000 members, and offers competition programs in road racing, autocross, time trials, RallyCross and RoadRally. Cal Club and the SCCA have a rich history of producing some of the world’s most noted drivers and the best race volunteer workers the sport has ever seen.
