Broncs close out season versus Rosamond

Story by Ray Conner

Taking the trip to Rosamond, the Broncs jayvee team knew it would be their last game of the year. It is unfortunate that they would come home with a 15-13 loss.

Kern Valley took command early and looked like they were well on their way to securing the win. They opened the game with a six spot in the top of the first. The Roadrunners scored once to put it at 6-1. After the Broncs at bats were finished in the top of the third the lead had ballooned to 10-1. The bottom of the inning was their undoing as Rosamond rallied to score five times to put it at 10-6.

Both teams scored three times in the fourth to keep it a four-run difference. The score said it was 13-9 heading to the fifth. Kern Valley was shut down to send it to the bottom of the inning. The Roadrunners exploded for six runs to make up the difference and give them the win over Kern Valley. Walks became an issue for the Broncs as their pitchers issued 19 total free passes.
