Five medals were taken home from the Great American Beer Festival in Denver between October 3-5. The Kern River Brewing Company took home two golds, two silvers, as well as an award for Brewery Group of the Year. Temblor Brewing Co., based out of Bakersfield, won the bronze medal. This competition was deemed as the most prestigious beer competition in the world. 318 medals were given out to 283 breweries across the United States. “We are extremely proud of our team and thankful to the Brewers Association for this award,” said Eric Giddens, Co-founder of KRBC, along with his wife, Rebecca. “We have won medals in the past, but you show up in Denver every year, hoping for just one so you can go home happy. To come home with four and Brewery of the Year honors is still hard to fathom.” Rebecca added, “Our only regret was that we did not have our whole team and happy hour crowd here with us in Denver to share the moment.” This is a great accomplishment for the Kern River Valley. Kern River Brewing Company excels not just in its brewing but in keeping people with full bellies and happy hearts. Congratulations KRBC!
