Folks, I know you been a waitin’ to hear from me, and have I got an earful for all of you seein’ as how some of you can read, I hope. Boy, what a week out on the campaign trail. Folks, I’m hittin’ it hard this last couple a weeks, and it’s a good thing I grew up breathin’ that good ol’ Johnsondale air, as a weaker person may have fainted over in the saddle by now. Thursday night I had a great time up at the Kernville Brewery watchin’ how they bubble up them hops and barley. They have an Isabella Blonde, how bout a Johnsondale Brunette?!? After my T.V. show on channel 17 KGET on Friday, I headed down south to Mexico, I mean Bodfish, to Don Sombrero for a dinner invitation. Dead Shot Deb and Klondike Kel joined me for a great dinner and warm atmosphere. Well, the sky stormed up on Saturday night and I was a little worried about how the folks would trot out to my spaghetti feed and auction. I knew in my heart the spaghetti sauce would be made perfectly according to Goodfellas as my trusty Camp Cook Alexander would be at the helm, and boy, was it good. Rip Roarin’ Randy was in fine form and auctioned off more than 65 items donated from our valley merchants and private citizens. Folks… you are amazing. Not only did you brave the weather and pack the house, you folks bought every item that was auctioned off. We had a great time at our local Masonic Lodge! What a wonderful group of Masons we have here, folks. They opened their doors and hearts to me for the event. My posse was in fine form as well as the so many helpers. I could not have done it without them. And a big thank you Brad at Pizza Barn…the secret in the sauce. So… with that, onto this week…I’ll be out at Mt. Mesa Lanes on February 7 at 6 p.m. Grab your balls, or use one of theirs, and let’s hit the alley. Then on Friday, Feb. 8, I’ll be going over to try out another one of those Mexican eateries, El Portal at 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Boy, I sure gotta hankerin’ for some carne asadas. Then, on Saturday, folks, it’s a double header. I’ll be eatin’ and bribing at this place called the Red Rooster. Lord, I hope that’s not on the menu. I’m partial to squirrels at 9 to 11 a.m. Then, I’ll close the evening off at the Sportsman Bar from 9 p.m. to midnight with Gary and his gang. On February 10 at 5 p.m., we’ll have high tea at the Kern Valley Museum Annex, served by Ma Ming!
Signin’ off, yours truly,
