Lake Isabella company donates canine vitamins to Pasadena animal shelter

When tragedies strike, we recognize the importance of family, and that includes pets.

DoggyD.dog Donates Canine Supplements to Pasadena Animal Shelter

Lake Isabella company, DoggyD.dog, sent a shipment of canine vitamins valued at $2,000, to the Pasadena Humane Society on January 15, 2025.

At the time of writing, more than 300 animals have been rescued by the Pasadena Humane Society. The DoggyD team recognizes the costs of veterinary care, medicine, and food must be staggering.

“With this donation, we hope to help our neighbors endure the wildfires in Southern California. We know that hundreds of pets are currently displaced, and many need medical attention,” said Dr. John Cannell, M.D., founder of the organization.

Unlike humans, dogs cannot make vitamin D in their bodies. They must ingest it as part of their diet, and most commercial dog feeds don’t include vitamin D in their formula. This is also true of homemade diets, raw food diets and so on.

When dogs are stressed or injured, vitamin D can help them recuperate faster. It’s beneficial for their coat, skin bone health, energy levels and appetite.

“Animals feel the stress of displacement just as much as humans, perhaps more. When these tragedies occur, we realize the value of our families and neighbors, and that includes their pets,” said CMO Melissa Harris.

“If we can help these families and their pets feel better, physically, that’s very important.” Harris continued.
