The Angels Roost Gang announced its candidacy for Whiskey Flat Days Mayor 2025,
last Friday, January 3, at the Whiskey Flat Kick-Off Dinner, at Elks Lodge, in Wofford Heights.
The real life band members of the Southern rock and blues band, Angels Roost, are running for mayor under the names Kern River Kid (Bronson Slaughter) and sidekick Peacemaker Pete (Pete Tebow.) The two are raising money for the project, which was once a larger tourist attraction than it is currently, the Kernville rodeo grounds. They hope the grounds will become a much larger tourist attraction because of the funds they raise to upgrade the facility.
The chamber plans to make upgrades to the rodeo grounds. The grandest vision for the rodeo grounds is to finally put up the McNally Barn.
