Coat and blanket drive returns again

This is Jackylyn Northam’s second year providing a coat and blanket drive through Clarvida of California, which used to be known as College Community Services. Last year’s was successful, as well, so that was why she decided to do it again.

You can find her giving these items away at Knuckle Up Ministries, between 12pm and 2pm Friday, December 6. She told the Kern Valley Sun, “The reason I started doing it was because I noticed that a lot of the homeless don’t have blankets and coats.”

Northam collected these items for two weeks, at the beginning of November.
And she originally passed them out. “It’s mainly about getting a little warm, because it’s pretty cold up here in Lake Isabella, during that time.”

People can still donate jackets and blankets, at the Clarvida office, even after the drive ends. People are also welcome to come to Clarvida to pick up jackets and blankets after the drive ends. Please call Jackylyn before arriving. (760) 379-3412.

According to Jacky there have been Havilah families coming for the drives. And she’s considering doing a summer one as well.
