Making the trip to Wasco for the CIF tennis playoffs, the Lady Broncs saw four of its players get to participate. Marissa Tate and Karsyn Liske competed in singles play, while Abby Phillips and Kyra Flint teamed up in doubles action.
Tate the No. 19 seed began her play by taking on the No. 14 seed from Arvin. She made short work winning the match by identical 6-2 scores to advance to the second round. Liske as the No. 25 seed was up against the No. 8 seed from Garces. Liske moved on to the second round when her opponent withdrew from the tournament. Both Kern Valley players then went up against higher seeded opponents. Tate faced off with the No. 3 seed from Stockdale. It was too much to overcome as she fell in straight sets 0-6 and 1-6 to end her tennis campaign at Kern Valley. Liske also had a tough opponent as she took on the No. 9 seed from East High. She also would drop both sets 0-6.
Turning to doubles action the Lady Broncs team was seeded No. 16. They went on to face the No. 17 seed from Chavez. The team of Phillips and Flint see-sawed their way to the tiebreaker in the first set. They cruised through the decider 7-3 to take the one set lead. In the second set, they defeated their opponents 6-3 to advance to the second round. Now they would face the No. 1 seeded team from Liberty. The valiant effort ended by them falling by identical 0-6 scores.
