The Freshmen Broncs of the Youth Football team was the lone team from Kern Valley to play on Saturday. The rest of the teams were supposed to be on their home field to take on Tulare. The Tulare teams chose to forfeit their games giving the other Broncs the easy win.
The freshmen team made the trip to Rosamond to play. They dominated their opponents in bringing home the win. The final score favored the Broncs 48-26. Scoring touchdowns for Kern Valley were shared between five players. Crossing the goal line for Kern Valley were, Kian Bachman, Kash Lange, Colton Struska, Noah Martin, and Nolan Baker.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Broncs were led by Wyatt Huckaby with eight tackles, including four that were for losses. Xavier Griffin followed with six tackles. Three of those ball carriers were taken down for a loss. Bentley Woolley was credited with four tackles, with two that were for a loss. Helping out the defense were Bachman and Lange.
Kern Valley will make the trip to Bishop on Saturday in the last game of the regular season.
