Varsity Broncs squeak by Arvin 28-26 in youth football matchup

The varsity squad of Kern Valley’s youth football team picked up a hard-fought victory over Arvin. Playing on their home field the Broncs exploded on offense and played just enough defense to gain the win.
Dominic Di Prima had the huge game scoring twice, including a pick-six. Brandon Mason also crossed the goal line for Kern Valley. The fourth touchdown was scored by Shane Prince. Di Prima amassed 40 yards rushing on the day. Prince helped in the running game with 20 yards on the ground. Eli Dorado caught multiple passes to keep drives going. On defense, the Broncs were led by Anthony Sanchez with six tackles. Connor Merritt finished with four tackles, while Michael Gutierrez and Prince each collected three tackles. Chris Eye capped the defense with a pair of tackles.


Sophomore:
Arvin 27 – Kern Valley 8


Kern Valley could not keep up with the high scoring Arvin squad. Callum Watts scored the lone touchdown for the Broncs. He would also be credited with the 2-point PAT for all the scoring. On offense, Aj Pennington had over 20 yards rushing in the game. Watts, Loki Priest, and Brady Davis recorded multiple tackles in bringing down the Arvin ball carriers.


Freshmen:
Arvin 22 – Kern Valley 12


Kash Lange led the Broncs with a pair of touchdowns. Kian Bachman helped extend drives with a couple of first down runs. He would also bring down multiple ball carriers. Nolan Baker, Xavier Griffin each had multiple tackles. Lange and also helped out on defense with multiple tackles. Jett Buskirk was credited with a pair of tackles, while Eli Moore had one pass break up. Colton Struska kept Arvin out of the end zone with a touchdown saving tackle.


JV:
Arvin 36 – Kern Valley 18


Arvin doubled up on the Broncs in the JV game. No other information was made available.
