Loved ones of Jeanette Rogers-Erickson planned an upscale affair, at the local Masonic Lodge, to celebrate her 90-year birthday. The party, Saturday September 21 drew a pretty large gathering mostly dressed in fancy attire.
The following day, others Rogers-Erickson knows gathered at Knuckle Up Ministries, for an old fashioned church social, which the planners of the event called a “Meet and Greet,” to continue celebrating her nine decades of life.
The longtime Kern Valley resident founded the Kern Valley Hospital Foundation and the 25 year long, annual Heart Walk, which raised money for the hospital to assist Kern Valley Residents.
Congressman Vince Fong penned Rogers-Erickson a statement expressing best wishes on her birthday. The statement said, “You’ve impacted many through your determination, character and testimony by intergenerationally connecting our community.”
In the statement Fong also thanked Rogers-Erickson for her ability to bring the community together, showing passion for faith, family, neighbor and the nation. “May you enjoy this birthday and may your years ahead bring you continued happiness and fulfillment. May God bless you,” said Fong.
Rogers-Erickson gratefully thanked those attending, Saturday night, for being at the event and those who planned the momentous occasion.
