Lady Broncs tied atop HDL after beating Boron and Desert

The Kern Valley varsity volleyball continued HDL play this past week and came away with a pair of wins. These victories moved the Lady Broncs to 3-1 in league. They are currently tied for the top spot with Bishop, Mammoth, and Cal City. Kern Valley is 11-9 overall this season.
Playing at home versus Boron, the Lady Broncs swept the three sets to earn the victory. They grabbed the match lead by winning the first set 25-10. They advanced to a 2-0 lead in sets as they squeaked out a 25-22 win in the second. They finished off the Lady Bobcats with a 25-15 win in the third set to gain the match and add another HDL win to their record.
Leading the way for Kern Valley was Ruby Hawkins with 16 kills in the match. Ava Elliott recorded six kills, while Jessie Bunting finished with four kills. Elli Jeans was credited with three kills and Ellie Allen had two. The Lady Broncs recorded six serving aces led by Elliott with three. Alex Armes finished with two aces, while Hawkings capped the service aces with one.
They would follow this match up two days later by hosting Desert. The Lady Broncs put another notch in their league wins by taking the match in four sets. No further information was made available.
Up next for the Lady Broncs was a trip to Frazier Mountain on Tuesday. They will go back on the road to face Rosamond on Thursday.
