Normally this would be a preview for the upcoming season, but repeated inquiries to the cross-country head coach went unanswered.
The Kern Valley cross country teams, both boys and girls will begin their season on Saturday when they travel to compete in the East Invitational. This race is run around Lake Ming and it will be the first opportunity for Kern Valley runners to compete.
After this opening run, the Broncs and Lady Broncs teams will have an individual meet with Del Oro. The time and place are yet to be determined. This will be followed by another invitational race at Independence High School. Then the teams will jump right into facing league opponents at the HDL Invitational in Bishop. Then for the most part it is head-to-head meets within the HDL. Concluding the season with the HDL Finals at Frazier Mountain.
Kern Valley will compete in two other invitational meets when they go to Oxnard College in Oxnard on Sept. 26 and then they will go to Foothill to run in the Ted Oliver Invitational on October 5.
