Jayda Bushling and Aspen Hacker made their marks at the CIF Central Section Masters Championships, unfortunately for these athletes, their road ended here.
All season long these two competed against some of the best in the CIF. They stood their test of time and made it to the CIF Masters Meet held at Buchannon High School in Clovis. This meet took place on May 18.
Bushling would compete in three events. She qualified for the CIF Central Section Masters Championship in the 100m, the 200m, and the triple jump. Her highest finish came in the 100m where she finished 11th. Her time of the race was clocked at 12.33. She crossed the line in 13th place in the 200m in a time of 26.11. She finished up her season with a 18th place in the triple jump. She hopped three times and a leaped to a distance of 33’ 2.5”.
Hacker, qualified in only one event the 1600m race. She took off in the CIF Central Section Masters Championships and ran her way to an eighth-place finish. She was timed in 5:08.58.
With their season at an end, this in no way can down play the success and valuable experience each of these Kern Valley athletes have acquired. This year these two ladies were at the top of the game when it came to their individual events. Each meet, there seemed to be a race, (pun intended), on which of these ladies would win the most events. They would push each other and make the competition benefit their whole team.
Head coach Brent Mixon said, “Our young ladies did a great job competing all year long and today was no exception. They have worked hard to get to where they are, and I could not be more proud of them. Both girls will be back next year better and stronger than ever. They have bright futures ahead of them and have had a great season.”
With this pair of athletes coming back, the Lady Broncs track squad looks like they will be that much better next year and dominate even more meets.
