Valley Life By Kern Valley Sun / September 12, 2017 Share 1 Tweet Photos submitted by Richard Rowe C.A.P.K. and the Rotary Club of the Kern River Valley, with the help of volunteers from One Spade Youth Packers and members of Legion Riders Post 711, handed out 600 boxes of much needed food, ice cream and over 1,500 lbs. of watermelon to Kern River Valley residents at the last Drought Box Distrubution on Saturday, September 9, behind the Crossroads Shell Station. C.A.P.K. reports that more than 368,730 lbs. of food was distributed to the Kern River Valley since June 2015.
