Kernville Union holds special meeting re: summer school, pre school, and furniture

Kernville Union School District Board of Trustees met, in a special session Tuesday, January 21 to decide issue on the pre school program, summer school 2025 and office furnishings for the new district building, which houses the Family Resource Center.

The board approved the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) for the district and the Kernville Union Teachers Association/CTA/NEA regarding an extended school year 2025, summer school 2025, Kindergarten and Jumpstart 2025.

They also approved the revised salary schedule for the preschool site supervisor.

The board voted to increase days for pre school site personnel, Kathy Liske for year round Pre School. The trustees voted to approve a reassignment for Kathy Liske from 205 days to 225 days.

The trustees approved a MOU regarding the preschool Head Teacher, which is a new position. The district will be promoting, from in house, or possibly hiring from outside
the district. And the board approved the job description.

The board approved the salary schedule for the pre school Head teacher.

The district approved $9450.74 for lobby furniture to go in the Family Resource Center
building, which is a new district building in Lake Isabella. The trustees also approved cubicles the district wants to purchase for the same building in the amount of $18,804.76. The company they are purchasing from included shipping in the cost, and assembling the furniture and cubicles, within two weeks. The same company would hardwire the electrical into it and IT. The company is still the cheapest although it included shipping and assembly. Lissa Robinson showed the board of trustees samples of the color options for this order.

Then the board then went into a closed session regarding a student expulsion.
